5 fun ideas to make your own party hats

make your own party hats

Have you ever wanted to make your own party hats?  I was recently asked by a friend to come up with some DIY party hat ideas.  So of course I agreed and thought I would share my favourite finds here too in case they inspire you to make your own.

These fruit inspired DIY party hats (pictured at the top) are so fun.  They are bright and fresh, perfect for a Summer birthday party.  You don’t have to stop at pineapples and strawberries but can include any kinds of fruit you like.  These party hats aren’t just for kids, they’d be great fun for an adult gathering too.

"DIY linen kids party hats"

Linen is such a lovely fabric and it makes some really cute party hats, don’t you think?  Embellished with simple felt balls, these DIY linen party hats are almost too good to throw away after the party.  I like the simple colours too but of course be as bold as you like.

"DIY pompom kids party hats"

These DIY pom pom party hats are the prettiest ever.  My favourite is the polka dotted one but even the plain one is so simple yet stunning.  And I love the understated pom pom colours too.

make your own monster themed party hats

For something a little bit different and a lot more colourful, try making these fun DIY monster party hats.  The yellow and fuchsia colour scheme is so eye-catching but choose any bold and bright colours to match the theme of your child’s party.

"DIY easy childrens party hats"

When you’re short on time and can’t make your own party hats from scratch, buy some pretty party hats and customise them to give them that personal touch.  You can add a shiny fringe like these ones or cut out names of each child and paste on to the hats.   Here’s where you’ll find out how and get some more ideas to upgrade your bought party hats.
