December is a busy month for so many of us. For me though it’s a bit crazy as in addition to Christmas we have a family birthday as well as several very close friends’ birthdays too. That means that I don’t always get time to go big with Christmas decorations. Instead sometimes I just pull together what I can get done quickly and this year, the one I’ve started with this super quick and easy pine branch Christmas decoration.
I got a couple of large pine branches from a local florist and cut them down so they were small enough to fit into my vase. And then I simply decorated them with some bows made from (AFF) velvet ribbon and some pine cones. I used green florists wire to hang them as I didn’t want to see any string especially for the bows.
I used bows and pine cones but you can decorate the branches with any hanging decorations you have as long as they aren’t heavy. If you want to make your own decorations I have a couple of free templates you can use — these DIY paper stars and these pretty paper baubles.
Even though this pine branch Christmas decoration is so simple to make it still looks very festive. Also it doesn’t take much room meaning you can place it anywhere. You can display it as a dining table centrepiece or on top of a mantle or even on a kitchen island. And add a candle or two to make it even more festive and Christmas-sy.
Once it’s time to decorate my Christmas dinner table, I plan to use just the pine branches as my centrepiece with several candles placed between them. The pine branches do dry out after a while but they still look great so you can use and re-use them all season long.
