Every year I tell myself I’ll be more organised and get my Christmas gifts bought and wrapped by early December. But no matter what, it never happens! At least this year I won’t be madly wrapping at midnight on Xmas eve because I’ve bought all my gifts and even started wrapping. And so I thought I would share my minimal Christmas gift wrapping idea with you as it’s ready.
I always keep my gift wrap simple no matter what the occasion. So this Christmas I opted for soft beige tones in both beige wrapping paper and an alphabet print wrap. I spotted some cheap baubles in the pound store (similar to the dollar store) and thought they would make cute gift toppers.
I got a pack of 10 small baubles which were very shiny! I painted them all in a matte sandy beige colour with acrylic paint. As you can see some of them look textured – these were the glitter ones. I wasn’t sure I was going to use the glittery ones at first but the paint covered up the glitter really well and I liked the textured look I ended up with.
Once my gifts were wrapped, I added some black twine and threaded through the baubles and a gift tag. I finished the gifts with a sprig of rosemary. For the smaller gifts, I left out the bauble as it looked too big but if you can get tiny baubles, they would work well.
I chose beige tones as I am loving this colour at the moment. But you can go for any plain neutral colour like black, white, grey or blush and paint your baubles to match. And the rosemary (or any other greenery you have) will look great with any neutral tone.
Do you like this minimal Christmas gift wrapping idea? What colour will you go for?

Hello! Do you have any of the gift tags still? If so, could you tell me how big the hole is which the string goes through? It would be so helpful! Thank you

Hi Carrie – I used a single hole puncher which makes a hole of approximately 3mm. Hope that helps!
