It’s no secret that I’m an Ikea fan. I have loads of their stuff in my home including one of my favourites, their soderhamn sofa. I also love a good IKEA hack – who can resist? Today though, it’s about one of those little IKEA gems that costs very little but can be styled and used in so many ways.
The IKEA Mosslanda shelf is a simple picture ledge that can be used as just that but it can also be used in other ways and in so many different rooms of your home. What I love most about this IKEA piece is that you can totally transform it even with just a lick of paint. And it becomes a minimalist, super stylish piece in minutes.
All of these IKEA picture ledge ideas are simple to recreate but more importantly they may inspire you to dream up your own IKEA Mosslanda hack.
5 Ikea picture ledge ideas

I love how these Mosslanda picture ledges have been styled. Using books, small objects, sculptures and more, it’s a beautiful display that would make a stylish feature in any room. You could line up two picture ledges together if you have a very wide wall.

This is the most unusual of all the hacks here but it’s brilliant. Here the Mosslanda ledges have been repurposed as legs for a side table and it totally works. The “legs” have been topped with a marble board and the result is a super elegant side table that won’t cost very much at all. Here they’ve used the walnut ledges but the ledges come in different finishes so you can customise the look so it matches your decor.

This IKEA picture ledge idea is yet another creative idea as it’s been turned in to a handy utensil holder and shelf simply by turning it upside down and adding a rail under. It’s a simple idea for adding stylish storage to a kitchen but would work equally well in a bathroom.

This is such a clever use of this simple Mosslanda picture ledge. By attaching a piece of MDF wood to the front of the Mosslanda shelves, you’ve got a minimalist headboard with hidden storage. Really handy for a small bedroom where you may not have enough space for bedside tables. And once again it’s been painted in the same colour as the wall making it look so seamless and cohesive.

Here the IKEA Mosslanda has been used as a display shelf but this time for creating an inspiration board. Once again it’s been painted to match the walls which always works so well. This idea is perfect for a home office to always keep some inspiration visible. If you happen to be decorating your home, you could use this idea to create an interior mood board too.
