Valentines day or not, I love celebrating even the smallest things in life and especially celebrating with the wonderful people in my life. So even though Valentines itself doesn’t hold a big significance for me, I see it as an excuse to celebrate and any excuse to celebrate works for me.
This year I decided to make these folded hearts or love notes so that I can write meaningful little messages to people who matter to me. I’ve kept the design minimal and monochrome as I think they look more chic this way. These diy Valentines note cards are easy to make and you can make as many as you need – for your partner, kids, friends and family.
My 10 year old daughter loves these hearts too so she’s giving them out to her besties at school. They are a fun thing for any age so why not make them and give them out by the dozen!
DIY Valentines note cards
Materials:
black, white and kraft card (approx 150-170gsm)
kraft paper round stickers
white or gold pen (to write on black card)
Create a heart shaped template in the size you want your note cards – you can do this using shapes in powerpoint or word. You can go for a combination of heart sizes from small to XL but I stuck to one size – 8cm/3inch high hearts.
Print one or two hearts on card and cut them out. Use these as templates to draw around on the rest of your card paper – you can print the hearts directly on your card but you’ll still need a template for the black card as you can’t print on that. Write your message inside and seal with the round kraft sticker.
Now that I’ve made these little Valentines love notes, I can’t wait to hand them out. They’re cute as little notes but if you wanted, you could use them as gift toppers too.
How do you celebrate Valentines?
