Autumn is definitely in the air but it’s not quite boot weather yet. For these in between times, I love a pair of canvas shoes that are easy to slip on and off. They’re my go to comfy shoes as I’m not a trainers type of gal. They look chic with anything – jeans, skirts, dresses – and are so comfy to wear. They are my trusty early autumn shoes that I wear all the time.
Recently, I bought a new pair of canvas shoes that I spotted for £3 – could not resist at this price! When Anya saw mine, she wanted a pair so I splurged on a second mini pair for her. Both our shoes were plain white and a bit boring so we decided to bring them to life by painting them.
This 10 minute DIY to paint your canvas shoes is so simple so there are no step by step instructions.
Materials:
Plain white canvas shoes
Fabric paint pens
I used fabric paint pens and not fabric paint as it’s easier to paint with pens especially for kids. It allows you to be more precise and make small patterns like the dots we painted.
I chose to paint a classic black polka dot design on mine – black is my signature colour (do you have a signature colour?) but Anya opted for bright pink and orange. Of course you and your kids can paint any design you like.
In case you’re wondering which fabric paint pens I used, my UK readers can find them here and my US readers here.
What design will you choose for your own painted canvas shoes?
Have to do this with the boys, love how creative you can get with them, thanks for the inspiration, they are gorgeous xx
Thank you. I think they would love it – their very own designed personal shoes and if they have their mama’s taste – well the shoes will be amazing! Can’t wait to see xx
