With Halloween approaching, I have a fun little DIY idea for you — these cute DIY ghost bookmarks. I read a lot so I’m always in need of bookmarks and this time I got inspired by the upcoming holiday. Though inspired by Halloween, there’s nothing creepy here, just cute little ghosts!
I’ve made these as bookmarks but you can decorate with them in different ways like using them as Halloween cake toppers, table decorations, pop them in to folded napkins and more. I don’t really decorate for Halloween so for me they’re great as bookmarks.

Materials:

large popsicle sticks (US readers here)
white cord/string (US readers here)
black card (US readers here)
hole punch
pva glue
Measure and cut the first piece of cord according to how long you want your ghost to be. I went for approx 7.2 cms / 2.8 inches. Being bookmarks, this kind of length works well. Glue this on to the popsicle stick.
Next, measure and cut another piece of cord which will be slightly smaller and glue this on. Continue till you have all four pieces of cord glued on to the popsicle stick in a rainbow like shape.
Punch out the eyes from your black card and glue those on. And you’re done! There’s also a short video tutorial below.
If, like me, you prefer simple and sweet Halloween decor then these bookmarks are for you. And even though they feature a ghost, they’re cute enough to use all year round. You can even make a few extra and give them along with any book gifts you give during the Halloween season.
If you want some more Halloween and fall inspired ideas, take a look at these DIY pumpkin vases and these DIY pumpkin shaped candle holders. Both these can be decorated with the entire autumn season as they’re not specifically Halloween related.
