Which is your favourite coffee table?

Hi
I Love the Scandinavian style and that’s a understatement 💓
I find it really difficult to stick to the clutter free look though…my main problems are a husband who has taken over ever single cupboard and draws in the living room as he’s a hoarder who works long hours so never ever wants to sort his stuff out!! I’m disabled so I can only do so much and I find his clutter over whelming. He leaves stuff on the fire place, coffee table and every surface within reach as he can’t be bothered putting things away!! I’ve allocated him storage but once that’s full he will just strewn his things everywhere. I also have a cat ( I love her but she is a pain) our back door ( with cat flap) is in the living room. The cat will come in and climb all over my white gloss furniture, my lovely cushions and throws and leave muck and dander where ever she goes ( which I’m allergic to btw) She has a cat bed, a cat tree and a scratch post as well as a tunnel and toys to play with. We live in a tiny one bed bungalow ( the biggest room is the living room which is only 10 ft by 12 feet) so when i say tiny I mean tiny!!! Very limited on space ( bathroom is only 4ft square) and bedroom is 8 ft by 6 ft , the kitchen is 6 ft by 6 ft and the hallway is 11 ft long by 2.5 feet wide
I hate clutter and open shelving. When my husband is home I retreat into the bedroom to get away from all the mess as I can’t and unable to constantly be cleaning!!!Please help me I desperately need some advice…
Kind regards
Suzy

Hi Suzy – thanks for leaving a comment. Unfortunately the only way to live clutter-free is to get rid of clutter. It’s so important to do this not only for aesthetic reasons but also for your mental health. My suggestion would be to ask your husband to start very small – set a timer for 5 minutes a day and get rid of clutter just for those 5 minutes. This is very easy to do as anybody can find 5 minutes and it doesn’t feel overwhelming either. Do it consistently for one month and you will see a huge difference. I can suggest other methods but the most important thing is that your husband has to be willing to get rid of clutter. Or else can you do 5 minutes a day? This is even more important in a small home. Feel free to email me if you’d like to.
