For today’s home tour I’ve got this stunning small Scandinavian apartment which benefits from many original features like the ceiling mouldings, the original flooring, the super high ceilings and huge windows.
Like many Scandi homes, this isn’t a big home with just under 500 sq ft (approx 45 sqm) of space. But the space feels larger because it has been decorated so cleverly. The wall to wall mirror wardrobe doors in the living room not only provide much needed storage but also maximise the light coming through the large windows and make the space appear bigger than it is. The colours throughout are light with lots of white mixed in with soft neutrals paints like grey and beige.
The living room decor has all the key elements of Scandinavian interiors like feature lighting, lots of textures, plants and pale wood throughout. The space looks so warm and inviting while being so practical too. They’ve cleverly used the niche by the window to add storage as well as a small desk space for home working. In any room which has to server more than one purpose, it’s always a good idea to create subtle zones for each space which has been done so well in this room – there is a clear living space, a dining space and an office space. All this in a small space that still looks so spacious and bright.
Here’s a short video tour of this Scandi home:
The small bedroom benefits from a large window too and there is a mirror on the wall opposite the window to maximise the light. It’s the choice of wall colour that really makes this bedroom and gives it such a cosy feel. Once again you have the beautiful feature lighting, greenery and lots of textures. As it’s a small room, there isn’t much in here but the few details that have been chosen are perfect to enhance the space – like the single minimal piece of art and the stylish floor light.
The kitchen is very tiny as you can see. I love the exposed brick feature and once again they’ve used the wall niche to create some much needed storage. The kitchen is very simply designed as there really isn’t room for anything more.
What really makes this small Scandinavian apartment special is the living area with all the original features and those big windows. It’s been stylishly decorated making it such a beautiful and inviting space. Even though it’s a small home it still feels spacious which is something the Scandi’s always manage to pull off.
