For today’s home tour, I’ve picked this warm and inviting Scandinavian apartment. There is so much attention to detail in every room in this home making it come together beautifully. It feels like every piece has been carefully chosen for aesthetics and of course practicality too.
As is often the case with Scandi homes, this one bedroom apartment isn’t big measuring approx 600 sq ft (56sqm). Size is never an excuse for having clutter in Scandi homes. Instead it’s all about only having stuff that is beautiful and useful. This home is no exception to this.
If you’re wanting to get the warm Scandinavian living room look in your home, this living room is full of inspiration. Unlike many Scandi homes, this room doesn’t benefit from beautiful architectural elements like ceiling mouldings, extra large windows or high ceilings. But that doesn’t matter because it’s been decorated with bags of style, warmth and attention to detail.

The mid-grey walls with a green-ish undertone add so much cosiness to the space. And then, as is characteristic of all Scandi homes, there is so much texture in this room. From the teddy chair to the fabric pendant, the wool rug, the linen curtains… the list goes on. Speaking of the pendant, how dramatic does it look hanging so low above the coffee table? Feature lighting is another key feature in Scandinavian homes and this living room is no exception. The black metal shelving along the length of the wall is another great idea – it looks fab and is perfect for displaying books and other objects.
We can’t leave this warm Scandinavian living room without mentioning that beautiful herringbone parquet flooring. It adds more warmth to the space and works so well with all the neutral tones in the room.
In to the bedroom which too is so warm and cosy. The dark green walls with a grey undertone are different from the living room yet all the colours throughout this home come together to create a cohesive look. This is so important especially when you can see in to one room from another. Once again you have plenty of texture and statement lighting in this bedroom.
The other thing that struck me about this bedroom was the mix of styles. You have an a very modern bedside table placed next to a vintage dresser. Also on the window sill I spied a modern lamp next to a vintage pot. Mixing decor from different styles is always a good idea to add interest to any room.
The warm and cosy vibe of this Scandi home is carried through to the kitchen too. The warm wood furniture, the rug and the linen curtains provide so much warmth to this space. I love the feature light over the dining table which really brings the space to life. The kitchen is made up of simple modern white cabinets that are contrasted with black granite worktops. The combination of warm and cool textures is what really works here.
Finally I wanted to share the hallway that leads from the kitchen to the living room. The space has been cleverly used to create a small home office in this small apartment. They’ve made the best use of this small space by going for a long and narrow desk which is perfect. Beyond that though, this small home office feels like a proper home office space – it doesn’t feel like they’ve just thrown a desk and chair in the hallway if you see what I mean. The reason is because it has been decorated and treated as a complete space.
There is so much to love about this warm and cosy home. And so much inspiration and lots of ideas to take away for our own homes. The standout for me is all the feature lighting. What’s your favourite part of this home?
