Home tour | cosy home with modern and vintage touches

warm Scandinavian living room

This beautiful Scandinavian home has all the ‘feels’ you ever want from a home.  It looks so cosy and inviting while being so stylish too.  Of all the Scandi home tours I’ve shared so far, this one could be my favourite.  That is saying a lot since each one has been super stunning in their own right!

This Scandinavian apartment isn’t big.  It measures approximately 1000 sq ft (98 sqm) but the space has been used cleverly and stylishly.  There’s a mix of modern minimal and vintage/mid-century styles throughout this home which has been put together so beautifully and perhaps that is why this home stands out so much.

I have to start with the living room which is the first room I saw in this apartment and fell in love with. That linen sofa looks so inviting!  This warm Scandinavian living room has so many beautiful contrasting textures – linen, marble, velvet, glass and wool to name a few.  Textures are the key to creating a Scandinavian style cosy home and this living room is no exception.  You also have the unexpected wall light which creates a striking feature.  And then you have the mix of modern minimal decor with mid-century and vintage touches. Mixing up your decor like this always adds interest but it’s everything together (texture, lighting, different styles) that really gives this living room the wow factor.

On one side of the living room is this area pictured above.  That black framed glass wall is not only a fabulous design feature but it’s so practical too.  Behind the glass partition is a small corridor like area which has no windows. I’m guessing the partition was added to create a separate home office and using the glass was such a great idea to let in maximum light in a space that would otherwise have been very dingy and dark.  The decor in this home office space is in keeping with the mix of styles and textures you see throughout this home.

On the other side of the living room is the kitchen and much like the living room there is so much to love here.  The mix of modern with vintage styles as well as the mix of cool and warm surfaces comes together to create a beautiful kitchen. I love the contrast of the old wooden table against all the cool white and marble. Then you have beautiful details like the modern feature lighting, the vintage mismatched dining chairs and a modern art print.  This Scandi kitchen is simple yet so stunning –  I’ve included lots of pictures as I’m sure you’ll love this kitchen and get lots of inspiration from it.

Lastly we have the bedroom which is simple and bright.  I love the grey linen bedding and that feature table light that looks almost sculptural.  While this bedroom is minimal, it’s the carefully chosen details that add visual interest.

This Scandi apartment is a great example of how to mix different styles from modern to vintage to create a home that is so warm and inviting.  I think if I lived here, I wouldn’t move from that super comfy looking couch in the living room!

What’s your favourite room. Is it the cosy and warm Scandinavian living room or the stylish kitchen?  I can’t choose!
