Lighting is such an important part of a room’s decor. It can totally transform the look of the room. Every room should have a mix of functional and feature lights. Together the lights will be practical but will also create a real statement.
In my home, I like to mix it up with a combination of floor, ceiling, table and wall lamps. I don’t have all four lights in every room but I go for at least two different types, usually three, depending on the size of the room. But in larger rooms, like the living room, I do have four different light sources.
The right lighting can be tricky to find and can get even trickier if you’re on a budget. It’s with that in mind that I’ve found some of the best minimalist floor lamps around. Everyone needs at least one floor lamp in the living room as they’re so handy for reading and can create a really cosy mood. Your budget doesn’t matter as I’ve picked out floor lamps that will work for various budgets big and small.

All these floor lamps have beautiful slim silhouettes and they’re all minimal in design. Many of them have dimmers which is such a great feature. In addition they’re all not just good looking but are very practical too. Depending on the space you want to light, there will be a light for you.
9 of the best minimalist floor lamps

1. snowball floor lamp – a simple floor lamp that comes in brass, steel and black. I love the subtle contrast of the round top with the square base. The simplicity of the design is so perfect for any modern Scandi style interior.
2. leaf floor lamp – this floor lamp, inspired by the shape of a leaf, is both practical and so stylish. It’s dimmable and has a turnable head so you can use it for direct light or ambient light. It comes in five colours but my favourite is the black.
3. stage floor light – inspired by vertical sculptures and a traditional microphone stand, this light offers both form and function. It has three brightness settings and the head rotates so you can create the mood you want. It comes in three neutral colours.
4. birdy floor lamp – yes you guessed it! The design is inspired by the silhouette of a bird. This floor lamp isn’t just aesthetically pleasing but it’s also practical. You can adjust the angle of the light to highlight a particular space or object or you can use it as ambient lighting.
5. nymane floor lamp – this is the most budget friendly floor lamp on the list but it’s not a compromise in any way. The light has a sleek, minimal silhouette and the angle can be adjusted both at the stem and the head. It also comes in white.
6. marselis floor lamp – inspired by bent tubing, this minimalist floor lamp has a striking silhouette. Once again the head can be turned so you can use it for direct lighting or ambient lighting. This light comes in a white, pale ash grey and a soft black.
7. metal floor lamp – this is another budget friendly light that’s big on looks but not on price. The curved base adds interest to a simple, minimalist silhouette. This floor lamp would be particularly suited to a small space or to light low seating areas as it’s not quite as tall as some others.
8. precise floor lamp – i’m loving the modern, minimalist shape of this light which is beautifully contrasted with the rawness of brass and iron. This light comes in black too and it’s equally stunning so it just depends on what goes better with your decor. The cone like head looks so stylish yet simple.
9. peek floor lamp – the idea behind this floor lamp was to have a light that is there but doesn’t dominate in anyway. It just ‘peeks’ from behind a sofa or an armchair. This floor light is dimmable too so can be used to create different moods. It comes in black or white.
Which of these minimalist floor lamps is your favourite? I love them all but if I had to pick one, I think it would be the precise floor lamp. I just love the shape and the materials used and it’s one of the budget friendlier ones.
