I often talk about only having stuff in your home that’s both useful and beautiful. That goes for everyday practical items too – I mean why shouldn’t they be aesthetically pleasing as well as useful? There are so many things like this in a home like coffee mugs, coasters, storage boxes, toothbrush holders… the list goes on. Another of these is trivets which we all need and use.
So todays is all about minimalist DIY trivet ideas. All of these DIY trivets are pretty enough for your dining table, even when you have company. I’ve picked out a few different ones made of clay, rope and wood so pick a material you like best and try making one this weekend.
5 minimalist DIY trivet ideas
First up are these simple and stylish DIY wooden trivets. They’re pretty simple to make and would look great on any dining table even as decor when you don’t have anything hot to place on it.
These minimalist DIY trivets are made with a mix of white clay and faux granite clay. I especially love the shapes of these trivets and the stone effect.
For something a little different, why not try making these knitted trivets? You don’t need any knitting equipment because these are finger knitted. These would make lovely handmade gifts too.
Another simple idea that is perfect for display when not in use. I love that these wooden trivets are made in two sizes so one fits inside the other but they can be used separately too.
For the last of these DIY trivet ideas I’m loving this simple rope trivet. It’s large enough for more than one pot or it can double up as a placemat too. Otherwise make a few in a smaller size.
