Home tour | stunning greige & white Scandinavian home

modern Scandinavian living room

With each new Scandi home I find to share with you I think it’s the best one yet!  In reality, I don’t think there is a best one because they’re all stunning and todays Scandinavian home is just that.  I really wish I lived here!

Much like most of the Scandinavian apartments I share, this home isn’t big.  It measures approximately 1000 sq ft (97 sq m).  But as you know, size is never a reason to have a cluttered home.  It really doesn’t matter how small any Scandinavian home is, the spaces are never full of stuff.  There is always a feeling of space and of course clutter is never visible.

This Scandinavian apartment is so bright thanks to the large number of  big windows in the living areas and the main bedroom.  The windows in the living areas have been left bare which is quite common in Scandi homes.  They always maximise natural light which especially matters when you have such long, dark winters as they do.  Apart from the beautiful arched windows, this apartment has many features that make it stunning – the ceiling mouldings, the high ceilings and double doors really stand out here.

Yes, this apartment benefits from many features but the decor is no less stunning.  The home has been decorated to highlight all the architectural features.   All that white against a backdrop of the pale greige looks so beautiful.  The greige walls allow the white ceiling mouldings to really pop as well as allowing all the white decor to stand out.  The living room has the all the details that make Scandinavian decor so special –  lots of texture, feature lighting, breathing space, clutter free and neutral tones to name a few.

(contains affiliate links) I also love how they’ve combined Ikea pieces with more expensive investment pieces.  This is such a great way to create the look you want without breaking the bank.  For eg: the sofa’s are Ikea but they’ve invested in custom linen sofa covers which elevate the sofa so much.  The marble coffee table is an investment piece while the dining table has simple stools from Ikea for the seating.

The greige theme is continued throughout this  home including in this stunning modern kitchen.  The contrast of the dark oak cabinets with the pale plywood dining table is so stylish.  It’s not only the wood tones that standout, it’s also the contrasting wood finishes of the cabinets and dining table. Mixing wood tones is a great idea to create interest and avoid a room looking flat.  You’ve also got the contrast of the marble worktops against all that warm wood.  The open plan layout maximises the light and spacious feel of this space.

Next is the main bedroom which once again has beautiful architectural features like the big arched windows, high ceilings, the curved wall and ceiling mouldings.  The decor is very simple, sticking to the same colour palatte as the rest of the home and allowing all the architectural features to stand out.  A pale wooden desk has been placed in front of the window which echoes the tones of the dining table.  It’s always a good idea to have a colour scheme running through the home especially in an open plan home like this one.

bathroom with limestone sink

I don’t normally share bathrooms when I do home tours because… well they’re bathrooms!  But the bathroom in this home is worth taking a peek into.  That exposed brick wall adds so much character and the entire sink is made of beautiful limestone.  I love the beige-grey tones which are in keeping with the rest of the home.  And of course, you have plenty of texture here too – we often overlook texture in bathrooms but adding texture is so important in every room.

Have you fallen in love with this Scandi home too?
