Marble coasters are beautiful but they can be pricey. Instead, there is a super easy way to get marble coasters for next to nothing which is what I did. This idea is so simple and you’ll end up with the most beautiful marble coasters. And marble, as we all know, has a timeless elegance that can elevate any interior but works especially well in neutral and minimalist interiors.
For this marble coaster hack all you do is get a few samples of (real) marble tiles and add some self-adhesive pads and you’re done. It’s such a simple hack but often the simplest ideas are the best.
Materials:
real marble tile samples
small self-adhesive pads (US readers here)
Once you’ve got your samples, stick some pads on the reverse of each side so that the marble doesn’t scratch your surfaces. Thats it!
You can get your tile samples from any marble tile retailer in your city. Make sure to choose real marble and not marble effect tiles. Some retailers may charge a small postage fee while others won’t charge anything. Most samples I got were 10 x 10 cm squares — perfect for coasters. There were a couple of samples that were rectangular which I’m using as larger coasters or trivets.
I got a few different types of marble so that each of my coasters were a bit different, some with heavier and some with more subtle veining. I prefer my decor to be neutral so I opted for black, beige and grey tones but you can get green, pink or even gold veined marble.
Marble is a stone that works so well with other textures and materials so these coasters will look great on any table, no matter what surface. I’ve been using them on my white kitchen table as thats where I spend most of my time but they’d look just as good on a wooden table or a black metal table.
Isn’t this the easiest marble coaster hack ever?!
